1970 Seiko 4006-7001 Auto “Bell-Matic” 17j Day/Date

$425.00

The first Bell-Matics were released to the public in 1966, and were at that time the very first automatic wrist alarm watches with a central rotor. Seiko continued production of the line for another 12 years with a wide array of styles ranging from colorful casuals, to refined classics. This 7001 is a super clean casual with great lines and classic versatility. The dial is a silvery white linen with a “north to south” grain and polished applied markers with black striping. The baton style hands are polished and striped to match, and the original luminous material is a crisp bright white throughout. The alarm bezel is polished and fluted with a red cursor that’s easy to spot, and has been carefully aligned for accuracy. The case is unpolished with sharp corners and the factory brushed top is still intact. It is completely original aside from a replacement crystal, and the bell has a bright tone. The date can be quickset by pressing the alarm toggle, and the day can be semi quickset. Post service, the 4006 is keeping excellent time, and the alarm functions are smooth and easy to set. We’ve paired it with a chestnut suede with white stitching to complement the dial, and provide a comfortable fit and finish. A stunning example, this Seiko “Bell” is sure to be the loudest addition any roster.
