If you’ve followed us here at HCV or any length of time, you’re likely aware of our soft spot for military watches in general. Though not technically a vintage watch, the opportunity to acquire this Pulsar (still technically a Seiko) G10 MOD issue was one we weren’t going to pass up. As it’s a true issued item from the Ministry of Defense, we felt certain that a collector in our midst would be happy to add an affordable military watch to their roster. The dial is matte black with plenty of super luminova to brighten up your day as indicated by the encircled “L” mid-dial. Clean Arabic numerals mark the hours, save a triangle at the 12. The chapter is a “railroad” style minute track with markers at the hours. The case is sandblasted stainless steel with fixed bars between the lugs and a pressure fit case back. Indicated on the back are the G10 item number (6645), the code for Great Britain (99), the serial number, and the year of production (09), and of course the broad arrow. It’s powered by a single jewel 7N32C quartz movement, and a fresh battery has been installed. It keeps perfect time and has a date feature as well. The crystal has a few light marks, though nothing obstructive, and well worth keeping to retain originality. We’ve paired it with a premium digital camouflage pattern NATO for, well, obvious reasons. A true military issue and conversation starter that wont break the bank? A resounding “YES” from us.
