1976 Seiko 6139-8029 Automatic Chronograph

1976 Seiko 6139-8029 Automatic Chronograph

$0.00

Most of the 6139 lineup features sports driven and racing styled chronographs, however, there were a few casual pieces that were no doubt memorable, and if you can find the right example, “must haves” for any true collector. This 8029 from April of ‘76 may be just what you’re after. The case features classic 1970’s styling with rolled hooded lugs and great contouring. Without a bezel, the domed acrylic is set directly into the case and gives way to a near mint flat silver sunburst, tri-color dial. The minute register is a rich charcoal gray, and the lengthy hour markers are separated by a block baby blue minute track. The hour and minute hands stand out in black and white, and the chronograph hands provide ample contrast in a blazing fluorescent orange. The day and date are framed in black, and the original luminous material shows no degradation or color. We’ve paired it with a fun striped NATO with coordinated colors to add continuity and comfort to this classic chronograph. The 6139B behind the dial is just as impressive, and post service is keeping near perfect time. The chronograph functions are crisp and responsive, and on the wrist, it feels just as good as it looks.
