f you’re in the market for an affordable vintage casual with a formal leading edge, this DX from July of ‘69 has everything you need. The dial is an ivory white linen under a slick lacquer finish with a subtle cream patina. The hours are marked in applied Arabics with a glossy black finish, and a polished frame surrounds the day/date aperture. The hour and minute hands are thin, polished batons with warm luminous windows, and a slender sweep counts the seconds. The case sports classic Seiko architecture with a thin bezel, and chunky tapered lugs with beveled edges. The crown is recessed at the four o’clock position for a symmetrical finish, and comfort on the wrist. The hacking 6106 is keeping near perfect time post service, and we’ve paired it with a textured chestnut leather for a clean and versatile finish. It’s unpolished and completely original aside from a replacement crystal, and a beautiful bargain that’s sure to turn heads on any wrist.
