We are always on the lookout for interesting and unique vintage affordables, and this variant from August of ‘74 is exactly that. The dial is a flawless silver sunburst with painted emerald green and black markers at the 12, 6, and 9. The other hours are marked by a single black hash mark between thinner minute lines, and the 1/5 second track in bright green. It’s the perfect amount of color, and our first ever encounter with this particular dial. The hands are well proportioned, easily legible, and the original luminous material has remained a clean bright white. A print framed window displays the day and date in English only. The date can be quickset via the crown, and the day can be semi-quickset. The case is a polished tonneau with short thick lugs, and the lack of a bezel gives it a nice thin profile. Post service, the 7006 driving the hands is keeping near perfect time and has a strong reserve. We’ve paired it with an olive green suede that showcases the dial and offers comfort on the wrist.
