Seiko's UFO Sport Divers from the late 60's and 70's offer big and bold diver styling with pounds of vintage appeal. The UFO moniker comes from the “saucer” shaped style of the case, and it has long been a favorite of vintage seiko collectors. This example from February of ‘71 is an absolute stunner. The dial is a golden yellow sunburst that’s shared with another familiar vintage Seiko. It’s nearly perfect with only two pin-point oxidation “dots” visible on the finish. The applied markers are split baguettes with luminous centers flanked by Kelley green enamel on either side. The luminous on both the markers and the hands is the original, and has remained a crisp bright white. The rotating inner bezel is a vivid yellow "count up" style that rotates freely in either direction via the crown. It is free of any fading or oxidation from UV exposure. The lengthy polished batons are easily legible, and have retained their mirror finish. The tapered sweep stands out in a fiery blaze orange, and is free of any chipping or paint loss. The factory circular brush finish on the case is still clearly visible and it’s topped with a polished edge bezel with a Kelley green inlay. It’s unpolished and completely original aside from a replacement crystal, and post service is keeping near perfect time.  We’ve paired it with a “Tropic” style strap for a period finish that’s comfortable on any wrist. Easily the cleanest example of this robust, bright, and undeniably vintage sport diver we’ve ever seen, it’s sure to be a fast favorite in any lineup.
